Wow it's been since April since my last post! :-O Woops!

What have I been working on? My niece Noelle's giant granny square afghan (her Christmas gift) as well as I just began an easy table runner for our coffee table in the living room. And eventually I need to get 10-12 skeins of yarn to make a Sweet Sweater since it's a hit at Plus Sized Crochet yahoogroup.

The fall and winter always is perfect for making crochet stuff! I hope to make a table runner for a few family members as Christmas gifts.

My first ever crocheted toddler's glove!

I have to share something! Today I crocheted a pair of gloves for my son Alex, since he always seems to misplace his either in the car or somewheres around this apartment. So I got some teal and some black acrylic yarn, and got a G hook out, and whipped up a pair - my FIRST EVER attempt to making stuff other than blankets, scarves and granny squares! I learned how to increase and decrease in single crochet and it was neat! They may not look like the best but they suit their purpose and Alex loves them. He just said, "Dom är så mjuka, Mamma!" which means "They are so soft, Mom!" in Swedish. (He prefers Swedish and oftentimes mixes the two languages together in sentences. hehe)

Oh and I am so proud, he can count up to 10 already! I guess with the 1-10 wooden puzzle we play with and some Playhouse Disney shows (Mickey's Clubhouse, Small Einsteins) that do counting, he's learned!

Well, I got Alex's red/white/grey/black granny lapghan done last weekend, and currently working on a interesting scarf, with sock yarn... my "SAHCM Secret Sis" sent me a pattern from stitchdiva.com for this easy scarf... and I got on it right away and she even sent me two 50g skeins of neat Mode Dea Sassy Stripes yarn. And this scarf uses one skein of that, since it's not a wide one, it's 12 sc wide. I am going to many of these for family and friends, as it's so easy and quick and lovely looking! So my wee toddler niece in NY will be getting a pink and purple colored one for her bday that's next month. Those are her fave colors.

Well I did do all I had to do for the Virkning's Valentine granny exchange. Now I am multitasking between MIL's prayer shawl and Alex's spring stroller blanket. I also want to make these! Yes, something for MYSELF! hehe

Just wanted to wish everyone a very Happy New Year!

I got Alex's scarf done in that soft Homespun yarn :D Now the only thing left is finishing up MIL's prayer shawl.

I'm itching to do something from the 200 Crochet blocks book as well as starting a ripple afghan or scarf. Hmm...

A few new members on my Virkning Yahoogroup this week - yay! Too bad it's so quiet there. Hope it's not 'cause my squares/coasters were late from the last exchange. :\ I'd hate to think the gals are upset with me. Which is why I'm not in any exchanges until I know I have money so I can send stuff out on time. :P

Motivation

Well, I've got a lot of mail going out. Crochet stuff. I've also got a couple projects going. I'm seeing if I can make slippers.. as well as finishing up my MIL's prayer shawl. I want to make some blocks from the Jan Eaton book (200 Crochet Blocks) that I got recently. But lately, I can hardly find the time or motivation to complete these tasks.

Today I WILL get organized, the mail IS going out over the weekend, so that on Monday things are out and I don't have to procrastinate anymore. I hate being late with things. Especially when it's crochet exchanges. :\

I think the Christmas ornament exchange in Virkning is not going to happen because the group is inactive and I think once I get some time I will write the group and see what we should do. There are 17 members, after all.

Hey!

I'm playing catch up with this blog, and my crochet WIP's. I am so behind in an exchange that is a month (or 1.5 months) old, need to crochet a few more coasters and get them out... pronto! Then I need to crochet 3 ornaments for the virkning group... for the Christmas x-change (3 people involved besides me, so far). I need to finish up a scarf I'm doing for Alex which won't take long as it's almost done, and I need to really get my MIL's prayer shawl done as it's winter here and I'm sure she'd like it !!! :P Hope to suprise her for Christmas. ;)

Virkning exchange

Before I do some bible study and prayer time (Alex is napping), I figured I'd do an update post. So far 2 people in September's Granny+Coaster Virkning Yahoogroup have sent their stuff out, and boy, they are beautiful!

Ok, so I've been multitasking again;

Now to add to the list, I seen this in one of my Flickr crochet groups I am in. I am thinking of whipping up 6 six inch squares for this cause. That would help for one afghan... I am not made of money and postage for more would really do me in at this time... But I am sure I can get out more before next summer when the campaign ends.

Charity Crochet

I got the latest Lion Brand e-newsletter, and read about afghansforafghans.org and it inspired me to want to do charity crochet. :) So I'm gonna look at my yarn stash and see what I've got. I'd like to do an easy ripple afghan... because the normal easy single crochet afghans are just too plain... We'll see. I don't think I could make their September deadline but I am positive there are other charities out there to donate some afghans to. :)

Sorry I haven't written here lately! :( But I'm busy with working on my MIL's prayer shawl to get it done by at least the beginning of Autumn, so she has it to keep her warm... plus I'm busy organizing my crochet patterns and such... (the printed ones, and such I have in my Crochet nook) :)

Speaking of WIP's... my MIL said she'd love new potholders done in thread and I decided to get to it. Her prayer shawl can wait a little bit as it's too hot to make use of it anyway now that it's summer. I'll work on it in August. Anyhow, here is a picture of the potholder in progress. I am using two thread cotton yarns... mauve and yellow... Just a sc back and forth for 30 stitches I believe. I'll do another with green and yellow as well after this. Using 2 threads makes it a lot thicker than just using 1.

Well, I got out my green camo yarn (Bernat Camoflauge) and started another baby blanket... which is just a giant granny square. =) Photos to come later as it grows. I am using a K sized hook, I believe. Will have to double check!

I'm so thrilled to be a part of the Granny Along blog... and am so excited about crocheting more Granny Squares! They're easy if you do the basic one, I can do it whilst watching tv... =) Wouldn't it be cool to make a Granny Square prayer shawl? Hmm....

Well, since I checked out the Granny Along blog, I decided on making a crocheting blog. I'll use this blog to post pics of my WIPs and other things, instead of having a website that I don't have time to update.

My current WIP's are:
*My MIL's prayer shawl
*My BIL's newborn daughter's baby blanket

I also want to do a Granny Along, and I do have a "99 Crochet Squares" book but also want to get "200 Crochet Blocks" when I have some extra cash.
